Hello,I am Yuqi.I like to read everything word by word.Make sure I can understand every word,every details.Maybe this is not a good way to finish my work quickly.Maybe I should skim it.But I don't want to miss anything!
Hello Yuqi, I too like to read every word and try to understand everything when I am reading in another language but it takes too long and then you can't finish your task.
Learning to skim and scan is a great skill which will help you during tests. I would like to encourage you to practice skimming and scanning and soon it will become much easier for you.
Don't feel bad because you are not comfortable with skimming and scanning right now... But please do try to do it. You will be surprised at how much easier it will be for you in the long run.
